045-the coldest season is summer
The Photographer Diaries: A little bit of change, and rainy season here in Mexico
I’ve been so swept up by the last leg of writing this book. It’s amazing how even a simple project can absorb your time so much. I feel like water, and this project is a sponge. I have found myself completely absorbed by it.
But it is finishing up soon, and I will be able to resume some semblance of normal life, and begin writing again, as well as actually shooting again.
I am also switching things up here. I’m changing my Monday Updates title to The Photographer Diaries. I believe it will be more fitting, at least for now.
It is the rainy season here in Mexico, and the skies were tempestuous tonight. I was shaken by the lightning and the thunder. My bathroom flooded a bit as well. But between the pauses of the rain, I open my window and feel the cool air run over my face. Breathing is easier. It doesn’t make sense that the coldest season here is summer, but it is.
I have a lot to finish, and my brain hasn’t caught up at all, but I can see the finish line. I’ll embrace any cheering on this last mile.
FIND ME ON
Monday Updates is a section of this blog where I’m letting my hair down, figuratively. I am often preoccupied with getting things perfect, rather than simply sharing and enjoying the process while talking about life. Instead of the tradition of hating Mondays, I’m going to try to associate them with creative freedom and allow myself to speak my mind without the worry that a perfectionist usually has. Things here may be a bit disjointed, incomplete, and occasionally nonsensical, but they may also be playful, curious, and whimsical. I will do my best to make it more of the latter.
