The thought of each photo you take is some kind of self-portrait really hits home. I believe taking photographs is as much poetry as writing poems. It both mirrors one‘s inside in the same way. Since I’ve been here, posting my poems and my photographs, I realized that both inhabits the same issues, my issues. Thank you for this post. I really feel seen! 🙏🏻🤍

So glad you liked it Zora! (Is that your name? I tried looking for it.)

Yes, though since writing this essay I've changed my stance on a few things, I've been feeling that while there is a lot of reflection happening when we take photos and images, it's also equally necessary to cross that threshold every once in a while, stepping outside of oneself, and seeing things without a filter. Hopefully will be able to write a new and updated article on this soon.

Yes, it’s Zora. 🙂 Maybe it’s mostly about balance both. That would be great, I’d love to read the update. 🥰

Ohh, so you are the one who started the pandemic! Ha ha ha, just kidding. To have licked the earth was a very peculiar act of self-harm (or was it something else?). Normally dogs lick their wounds. Maybe the earth in which you stepped on -your whole world- was crumbling, so you decided, in your sadness, to kindly lick it. Or maybe it was just some random act under the influence, ha ha ha. Either way, I find it cute. Thanks for sharing such a vulnerable moment, Reylia! The transparency (braveness) is truely inspiring. 🙏🏼
